A furniture and product designer and maker with a hugely varied portfolio, Simon Pengelly has worked with an impressive range of companies in Britain and internationally. His approach to design is one of thoughtful pragmatism. Pengelly writes, “Quietness, possibly above all else, is a quality the best products possess in that they don’t follow trend, rather they possess a character born of thoughtful regard to function, materiality, environment, intuitiveness and familiarity, without the need to shout.” His Slant handle for izé invites the user to experiment with the ways of fixing: it can be fixed in two different ways, creating two very different looks, both equally comfortable in the hand.
