Fabrizio Casiraghi comes from a family rooted in Milan, the cradle of Italian industry and design. He showed an early interest in architecture and was accepted to the Politecnico, the famous faculty of engineering and architecture whose graduates include Aldo Rossi, Achille Castiglioni and Renzo Piano. Having graduated, he moved to Paris and worked for Dominique Perrault. Convinced that a smaller agency would suit him better, he returned to Italy where having majored in urbanism, he volunteered for the Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the association of historical monuments and parks of the Villa Necchi. There, he discovered and fell in love with the interiors of those mansions of yesteryear, and the details of their decoration. He is first and foremost interested in the volume. He then imposes rigour and purity, the shimmer of materials, the softness of colours and the exoticism of unusual furniture, all framed by the subtle and controlled use of light. In 2015, when he was not yet 30, he founded his agency Casiraghi, whose projects today alternate between residential, hotels, restaurants and boutiques. He considers himself a spiritual son of the Milanese tradition, quoting Gio Ponti, Piero Portaluppi and Gabriella Crespi, but he does not hesitate to emphasize his more diverse influences such as Madeleine Castaing, Maison Jansen or Hans Agne Jakobsson. Fabrizio Casiraghi is inspired by all forms of art, such as theatre and opera, as well as the exhibitions and galleries so readily available in his adopted hometown of Paris. He offers his clients a bewitching harmony tinged with ethnic and Asian references. And with his interests ranging from flea markets to antiques, he defines a free modernity that is not opposed to the past. Fabrizio Casiraghi dares to mix and contrast styles without ever breaking the harmony of the interiors. He invents a refined balance in which the overall vision and general atmosphere prevail.
